Company History
Until 1951, Henry Kriete was an employee at Mack Trucks, Inc. in New York City as a corporate parts manager. At that time, Mack Trucks, Inc. owned dealership branches across the United States and wanted to divest itself from these dealership branches in order to focus on its core competency, truck manufacturing. Henry Kriete was one of Mack’s internal employees who purchased the franchise rights to sell Mack Trucks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Henry took over management of the Milwaukee Mack Sales dealership in 1951. At the time Milwaukee Mack Sales, Inc. had 14 employees. Henry ran a successful dealership in Milwaukee, keeping the business in one location and with one brand until he passed away in 1973. In 1973, Henry’s son Roger inherited Milwaukee Mack Sales, Inc. and continued to run the single store operation for many years. It wasn’t until 1993 that Milwaukee Mack Sales, Inc. began to grow substantially. Prior to 1993, the business slowly added employees and in the mid-80’s added a leasing company under the name Maximum Truck Leasing. 1993 is the year that Milwaukee Mack Sales, Inc. expanded its geographic boundaries north to Fond du Lac. Milwaukee Mack purchased the Fond du Lac Mack Truck franchise, and began operating two dealerships with many new employees. A couple years later Milwaukee Mack purchased yet another dealership in Madison. By the end of the 90’s the business had expanded to include Milwaukee Mack Sales, Inc., Mack Sales of Fond du Lac, and Madison Mack Sales, Inc. In 2002, the company added not only more dealerships but also new truck brands. Consequently, the company changed its corporate name to Kriete Group.
Today, Kriete Group is proud to comprise of five dealership locations with approximately 225 highly qualified employees, five truck brands, a leasing company.
